MG IM5 2026 in Pakistan: Price, Range & Launch Update

There is no MG IM5 price in Pakistan, because the car has not been launched here. It was shown in Karachi in September 2026, and as of today MG Motor Pakistan does not list it among the models it sells.

What does exist is a full international specification, and it is worth knowing before anyone quotes you a figure. This guide sets out the verified numbers and keeps them clearly separate from anything Pakistan-specific.

MG IM5 Launch in Pakistan: What Is Actually Confirmed

The IM5 was shown for the first time in Pakistan at MG Motor Pakistan's "Experience More Karachi" event on 6 September 2026. Reporting from the event stated it was not yet introduced to the Pakistani market.

Here is the part that tells you most, though. MG Motor Pakistan's own website does not list the IM5 at all. It carries eleven models the HS range, the ZS range, MG4 EV Urban, U9, Cyberster and Binguo EV each with a model page, a brochure and a booking button. The IM5 has none of those.

It is also worth knowing what the event was actually for. The launch that day was the All New MG HS Petrol, introduced at Rs 8,999,999 with an introductory Rs 8,799,999 and a Rs 1,500,000 booking amount. The IM5 stood alongside it as a display car.

You may see December 2026 quoted as an expected launch. That comes from a third-party listing, not from MG, and the absence of the car from the manufacturer's own site is the stronger signal.

MG IM5 Price in Pakistan

Not announced. There is no official local price, no variant line-up and no booking channel.

For international positioning, MG's September announcement in the Netherlands put entry pricing at around €48,800 for the Standard Range. One caution even on that: MG has since introduced lower entry versions in that market, so the European figures themselves have moved.

Converting a European price into rupees would be misleading rather than helpful. Customs duty, sales tax, excise, freight, homologation, warranty provision, the exchange rate and MG's own local strategy all sit between the two, and any of them can shift the answer by millions.

MG IM5 Specs: The Three International Variants

The IM5 is an electric executive saloon from SAIC's IM brand, closely related to the IM L6 sold in China, and it is offered internationally in three configurations.

Specification Standard Range RWD Long Range RWD Performance AWD
Battery, gross 75.0 kWh 100.0 kWh 100.0 kWh
Battery, usable 73.5 kWh 96.5 kWh 96.5 kWh
Chemistry LFP Lithium-ion NMC
Power 217 kW / 295 PS 300 kW / 408 PS 553 kW / 752 PS
Torque 450 Nm 500 Nm 802 Nm
0–100 km/h 6.8 sec 4.9 sec 3.2 sec
Top speed 200 km/h 220 km/h 238 km/h
WLTP range up to 490 km up to 710 km up to 575 km
Max DC charging 153 kW 369 kW 396 kW

International specifications, cross-checked against two independent sources. Length is 4,931 mm across the range, with a liftback boot of 457 litres extending to 1,290 litres. MG has not confirmed which configuration, if any, Pakistan would receive.

Battery and Range: The Number Behind the Number

The headline capacities are 75 kWh and 100 kWh. What actually moves the car is the usable figure, and that is 73.5 kWh and 96.5 kWh.

Set the usable capacity against the WLTP range and you get the comparison that matters, which no spec sheet prints.

Variant Usable / WLTP range Energy per 100 km
Long Range RWD 96.5 kWh / 710 km 13.6 kWh
Standard Range RWD 73.5 kWh / 490 km 15.0 kWh
Performance AWD 96.5 kWh / 575 km 16.8 kWh

Calculated by dividing usable capacity by WLTP range. WLTP figures are laboratory results and vary with wheel size and market, so other numbers are sometimes quoted for the same car. Chinese-market figures for this model use the CLTC cycle, which is more optimistic and not comparable.

So the Long Range is not merely the one with the biggest battery — it is the most efficient of the three. The Performance uses roughly a quarter more energy per kilometre for its extra speed, which is the real trade-off between them.

Charging: Why 396 kW May Not Matter Here

The Performance accepts up to 396 kW on DC, the Long Range up to 369 kW and the Standard Range up to 153 kW. Those are high ceilings by any standard.

A ceiling is only as useful as the charger beneath it. Nothing on Pakistan's public network comes close to delivering those outputs, so in practice a car like this would charge at whatever the local unit can supply, not at its rated maximum.

Real charging time also depends on battery temperature, the state of charge you start from and how long the car holds peak power before tapering. Any advertised ten-to-eighty figure should be treated as a best case, not a promise.

If you are weighing an EV for long-distance use here, the network matters more than the car's rating — see our coverage of EV charging stations on Pakistan's motorways and highways.

Interior, Technology and Safety

The published international equipment is display-led: a 26.3-inch ultra-wide screen, a 10.5-inch central touchscreen and a 20-speaker audio system, under a panoramic glass roof.

Also listed are dual-zone climate control, leather-style upholstery, an adjustable rear seat backrest, a 360-degree camera and double-layer laminated glass intended to cut cabin noise. Heated and ventilated seats, wireless charging and smartphone mirroring appear on some specifications and not others.

On the driver-assistance side MG describes Active Lane Control, four-wheel steering, Hydroplaning Stability Control, Intelligent Comfort Stop braking and a set of parking and manoeuvring functions, alongside its One-Touch iAD system.

Equipment and feature names vary by market and trim, and no Pakistan-specific list exists. Assume nothing from a European brochure will carry over until MG publishes a local specification — and remember that assistance systems support the driver rather than replace them.

What Pakistani Buyers Should Weigh

On paper this is a serious car: 710 km WLTP in its longest-range form, genuine performance at the top of the range and a cabin built around screens.

But a saloon of this length and ride height has to live with local roads, and the questions that would decide the purchase are all unanswered: price, which variant, battery warranty terms, after-sales and parts, and charging access.

Our EV buying guide for Pakistan covers those ownership questions, the EV financing limit is relevant at this end of the market, and our Nora EV prices piece shows what is actually on sale locally today.

Final Thoughts

The honest position on the MG IM5 price in Pakistan is that there isn't one. The car was a display exhibit in Karachi, it is absent from MG Pakistan's own model range, and no price, variant or booking has been announced.

Treat the specifications here as international reference, not a Pakistani spec sheet, and ignore any rupee figure you see quoted. The place to watch is MG Motor Pakistan's own website — when a model page and a booking button appear there, it is real.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the MG IM5 price in Pakistan?▾
None has been set, because the model is not on sale here. European list pricing opens near the equivalent of a premium saloon, but duties, taxes, freight, warranty provision and the exchange rate make any conversion worthless as a guide. Anyone quoting a rupee figure today is inventing it.
Is the MG IM5 available in Pakistan?▾
No. It appeared as an exhibit at a Karachi event in September 2026 and reporting at the time confirmed it had not been brought to market. More tellingly, the manufacturer's Pakistani website lists eleven models and this is not one of them, with no brochure or booking option anywhere for it.
When will the MG IM5 launch in Pakistan?▾
No date has been given by the company. A December 2026 timeframe circulates from a third-party listing rather than from MG itself, and the car's continued absence from the official local range weeks after the display suggests nothing is imminent. Watch for a model page appearing on the manufacturer's site.
What is the MG IM5's range, and what are the battery options?▾
Three international setups exist: a 75 kWh LFP pack good for up to 490 km, and two using a 100 kWh pack rated at up to 710 km rear-driven or up to 575 km in all-wheel-drive form. All are WLTP laboratory figures, which shift with wheel choice and market, so other numbers appear elsewhere for the same car.
How much of the 100 kWh battery can actually be used?▾
About 96.5 kWh, with the smaller pack offering roughly 73.5 kWh of its 75. Manufacturers hold a margin back to protect cell life, so the advertised size always overstates what you can draw. Working from the usable number is the only way to compare consumption between variants honestly.
How quick is the Performance version?▾
The all-wheel-drive flagship produces 553 kW, which is 752 PS, with 802 Nm and a claimed 3.2 seconds to 100 km/h, topping out at 238 km/h. That pace costs efficiency: it needs roughly a quarter more energy per kilometre than the rear-driven long-range car.
