Two boxy, rugged-looking electrified SUVs, less than Rs. 300,000 apart. On paper, iCAUR V27 vs Jetour T2 i-DM looks like a like-for-like contest but underneath, the two take genuinely different approaches to combining a petrol engine with electric drive.
The V27 is a range-extender (REEV); the T2 i-DM is a plug-in hybrid (PHEV). That single difference shapes almost everything else in this comparison.

Price in Pakistan
The iCAUR V27 is Rs. 12,499,000 ex-factory, plus Rs. 70,000 freight. The Jetour T2 i-DM is Rs. 12,795,000 ex-factory.
That makes the V27 Rs. 296,000 cheaper at ex-factory level — while carrying the larger battery, more power and AWD. Registration and taxes are extra on both. Full details are in our coverage of the iCAUR V27 price and booking and the Jetour T2 i-DM price.
REEV vs PHEV: What Is the Difference?
This is the most important section of the comparison, because the two cars work in fundamentally different ways.
How the iCAUR V27 Works
In a REEV, the wheels are always driven by electric motors. The 1.5L turbo petrol engine never connects to the wheels — it runs purely as a generator, charging the battery when it runs low. So the V27 always drives like an electric car, whether the battery is full or empty.
How the Jetour T2 i-DM Works
In a PHEV, both the petrol engine and the electric motor can drive the wheels. The T2's 1.5L TGDI engine works through a 3-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT), and the system blends petrol and electric power depending on conditions — running purely electric when the battery allows, and bringing the engine in directly when more is needed.
What That Means in Practice
A REEV gives a more consistent electric driving feel, but relies on converting petrol to electricity when the battery is depleted. A PHEV can drive the wheels from the engine directly, which can be more efficient on long, steady runs at speed. Neither is universally better — it depends on how you drive. Our guide to REEV cars and range-extender technology goes deeper into the approach.
Performance: Power, Torque and Drive
The V27 has more power 449 hp against 360 hp and a claimed 0–100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. No acceleration figure was published for the T2 i-DM.
Interestingly, the T2 i-DM has more torque: 610 Nm against 505 Nm. Torque is what you feel pulling away and overtaking, so the T2 should feel strong in everyday driving despite the lower horsepower figure.
The bigger difference is drivetrain. The V27 uses dual-motor AWD; the T2 i-DM is front-wheel drive. If you drive on unpaved roads, in hilly areas or through monsoon water, AWD is a genuine advantage. For city and motorway driving, FWD is entirely adequate. Both share 220 mm of ground clearance, which handles Pakistani speed breakers and broken road edges comfortably.
Battery and Electric Range
Battery size is where the iCAUR V27 vs Jetour T2 i-DM gap is widest. The V27's 34.31 kWh battery is nearly twice the size of the T2 i-DM's 18.4 kWh, and that shows in claimed electric range: 150 km against 90 km, both on the NEDC cycle.
NEDC figures are optimistic, so expect both to come in lower in real use — particularly with air conditioning running in summer. Even so, the gap is meaningful. The V27 could plausibly cover several days of city commuting on a single charge; the T2 i-DM covers a typical day.
The V27 also claims up to 995 km combined range with the generator. A larger battery does mean a larger charge each time, so charging cost per full charge is higher the saving comes from driving more distance on electricity.
Charging
Both cars depend on being plugged in to deliver their electric-range benefit. Without regular charging, both run on petrol — the V27 through its generator, the T2 through its engine directly.
Home charging is what makes either car worthwhile. For public options, our guide to EV charging stations in Pakistan covers city coverage, and our look at EV charging on Pakistan motorways shows how uneven intercity coverage still is — though neither car strictly needs it, since both carry a petrol engine.
Which SUV Fits Which Driver?
Specifications only go so far. The better way to settle iCAUR V27 vs Jetour T2 i-DM is to match each car to how you actually drive.
Electric-first driving — if you want to use as little petrol as possible and can charge at home, the V27's larger battery and 150 km claimed range give it the edge.
AWD and rough roads — the V27's dual-motor AWD suits unpaved routes, hills and monsoon conditions better than the T2's FWD.
Long, steady motorway runs — the T2's PHEV system can drive the wheels from the engine directly, which may suit sustained high-speed driving once the battery is used.
Everyday pulling power — the T2's higher torque figure should make it feel strong in normal traffic. Beyond specifications, compare dealer network, after-sales support and warranty for both brands in your city. For the broader picture, see our coverage of EVs in Pakistan.
Final Thoughts
On published specifications, iCAUR V27 vs Jetour T2 i-DM tilts toward the V27 on price, battery size, electric range, power and AWD while the T2 i-DM answers with more torque and a PHEV system that can drive the wheels from its engine. The real question is how you drive: electric-first with home charging and mixed road conditions favours the V27; a buyer comfortable with a PHEV and mostly paved roads may prefer the T2.
