Hyundai Palisade Hybrid Fuel Average in Pakistan: Mileage & Range

The Hyundai Palisade Hybrid fuel average in Pakistan is usually quoted as 13 km per litre. At today's petrol price that works out at about Rs29 for every kilometre you drive.

We have checked that 13 against the only official test figures that exist, and it does not survive the comparison. Here is the honest running cost.

What Is the Hyundai Palisade Hybrid Fuel Average in Pakistan?

Start with the part nobody says out loud. Hyundai publishes no fuel average for this car in Pakistan.

The figures in circulation are 12 km/L in the city, 14 on the highway and 13 combined. Those are third-party estimates, not a manufacturer claim and not a local test result.

We are going to use 13 km/L anyway, because it is the number you will meet everywhere. But treat it as an estimate, not a specification.

The 13 km/L Estimate Beats the Strictest Official Test

This is the part worth reading twice, because it changes what you should budget.

Hyundai's American site publishes EPA ratings for the 2026 Palisade Hybrid. For the all-wheel-drive version the combined figure is 29 MPG.

Converted, that is 12.33 km per litre. And Pakistan gets the all-wheel-drive car.

Figure Combined Source
EPA, all-wheel drive 12.33 km/L Hyundai USA, official
EPA, front-wheel drive 13.18 km/L Hyundai USA, official
Circulating Pakistan estimate 13.00 km/L Third party, unofficial

Now look at what that table says. The local estimate is 5.4 per cent higher than the official EPA figure for the same drivetrain.

That should make you pause. EPA is the harshest of the major test cycles, stricter than WLTP, NEDC and CLTC.

So the estimate asks you to believe this SUV beats the toughest laboratory test in the world. In Pakistani traffic. That is not how fuel economy usually goes.

There is one more thing in that table, and it is the interesting bit. 13 km/L is almost exactly the front-wheel-drive number.

The EPA figure for the front-wheel-drive car is 13.18 km/L. The all-wheel-drive car is rated at 12.33.

We cannot say where the 13 came from. But it matches the front-wheel-drive rating, and Pakistan only gets all-wheel drive. That is worth noticing.

So we will give you both sets of costs below. Budget for the EPA number and treat 13 as the best case.

Today's Petrol Price, and Why It Only Lasts a Day

Every rupee figure in this article depends on one number, so here it is from the source.

Petrol is Rs377.91 a litre, up Rs1.85, with high-speed diesel at Rs399.82. The Petroleum Division announced it and Radio Pakistan carried the revision on 29 October 2026.

We confirmed it a second way. PSO's own fuel price page lists Premier Euro 5 at Rs377.91, effective 29 October.

Now the part that matters more than the number itself. Pakistan prices fuel daily, and the official notice says the revision applies for today.

So every total below is a one-day snapshot. It is not a monthly bill and it is not a promise.

That is why we show the working rather than only the answers. Divide the current price by your own average and you have your own cost per kilometre.

For context on how this system is being watched, see our piece on the fuel supply monitoring Pakistan is building.

How Much Does the Palisade Hybrid Cost Per Kilometre?

Two answers, because there are two defensible averages.

Assumed average Cost per km Per 1,000 km
13 km/L, estimate Rs29.07 Rs29,070
12.33 km/L, EPA AWD Rs30.65 Rs30,652

The gap looks small per kilometre. It is Rs1.58, which sounds like nothing at all.

Over a year of ordinary driving it is not nothing. We will come to that in a moment.

Monthly and Yearly Petrol Expenses

Pick the row that matches how far you actually drive, not the one that looks comfortable.

Driving At 13 km/L At 12.33 km/L
1,000 km a month Rs29,070 Rs30,652
1,250 km a month Rs36,338 Rs38,315
1,500 km a month Rs43,605 Rs45,978
15,000 km a year Rs436,050 Rs459,776
18,000 km a year Rs523,260 Rs551,731
75,000 km over five years Rs2,180,250 Rs2,298,878

One clarification, because this trips people up constantly. 1,500 km a month is 18,000 km a year, not 15,000.

Monthly and yearly figures only line up if you multiply the same distance. Mix a 1,500 km month with a 15,000 km year and you understate the bill by a fifth.

And here is what that Rs1.58 per kilometre becomes. Over 75,000 kilometres it is a difference of Rs118,628.

That is the cost of trusting the optimistic estimate instead of the official one. Worth getting right before you sign anything.

If You Run It on Octane Instead

Nobody writing about this car mentions octane, and for a Rs23 million SUV that is a strange omission.

PSO lists Octane Euro 5 at Rs415.00 a litre, which has been the rate since 10 October. In Gilgit it is Rs425.00.

That is Rs37.09 more per litre than ordinary petrol, or 9.8 per cent dearer. Plenty of owners at this level fill with octane by habit.

On octane, at 13 km/L Cost
Per kilometre Rs31.92
1,250 km a month Rs39,904
15,000 km a year Rs478,846

Compare that yearly figure with the Rs436,050 on ordinary petrol. Octane costs you Rs42,796 more a year at the same distance.

Whether the engine needs it is a separate question, and one for your owner's manual. Check the recommended fuel grade before you decide.

Full Tank Cost and Driving Range

Here we found a second number in circulation that does not match the manufacturer.

Hyundai publishes a fuel tank of 18.2 US gallons, which is 68.9 litres. The figure quoted locally is 72 litres.

Tank sizes can genuinely differ between markets, so the Pakistani car may hold more. But 72 litres is not a Hyundai-published figure, and 68.9 is.

Tank Cost to fill Range at 13 km/L
68.9 L, Hyundai figure Rs26,036 896 km
72 L, as quoted locally Rs27,210 936 km

Treat either range as theoretical. Nobody drives to an empty tank, and the last few litres are reserve rather than usable distance.

What Hyundai Actually Publishes

For the record, here is the official powertrain, from Hyundai's own specification page.

The engine is a 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder making 258 hp at 5,800 rpm, with 260 lb-ft of torque from 1,800 rpm.

The electric motor adds up to 72 kW. The combined hybrid system is rated at 329 hp and 339 lb-ft, or about 460 Nm.

Add the engine and motor together and you get roughly 355 hp, not 329. That is not a Hyundai error.

Peak engine output and peak motor output never arrive at the same instant, so the system figure is lower than the sum. It is the correct number to quote.

One more point for clarity. This is a conventional hybrid, not a plug-in. There is no charging cable and no electric-only range to plan around.

The engine and regenerative braking keep the battery topped up. You only ever visit a petrol pump, which in Pakistan is a real advantage.

What Will Push Your Average Below the Estimate

A hybrid's advantage is real, but it is conditional. These are the things that eat it.

Motorway speed is the biggest. A hybrid saves fuel by shutting the engine off at low speed. At 120 km/h it never gets the chance.

So this is one of the few cars where city driving can beat highway driving. The published city and highway estimates sit only 2 km/L apart for exactly that reason.

Weight is next. A seven or eight-seater carrying a full load and luggage is moving a great deal more mass than the test car was.

Air conditioning in a Multan summer is third, and it is not a small effect on any vehicle this size.

Then all-wheel drive itself. Driving four wheels costs energy, which is precisely why the EPA rates the AWD lower than the front-wheel-drive car.

And tyre pressure, which is the one thing on this list you control for free. Check it monthly.

Is the Hyundai Palisade Hybrid Economical to Drive?

For what it is, yes. For your household budget, that depends on what you are comparing it with.

A large seven-seat SUV returning around 12 to 13 km/L is a genuinely good result. A petrol V6 of this size would do noticeably worse.

But the absolute number is still large. Roughly Rs436,000 to Rs460,000 a year in petrol alone, at 15,000 kilometres and today's price.

And that is fuel only. Insurance, servicing, tyres and depreciation sit on top. None of them is small on a car at this price.

There is also no relief available here. Pakistan's fuel subsidy scheme is aimed at motorcycles and small cars, not luxury SUVs.

If fuel cost is the deciding factor, the honest comparison is against a smaller vehicle or an electrified one. Our piece on Pakistan's 2030 EV target and fuel prices covers where that is heading.

Final Thoughts

Budget on the official figure, not the circulating one. At the EPA rating for the all-wheel-drive car you are looking at Rs30.65 a kilometre, and about Rs460,000 a year at 15,000 kilometres.

Two numbers in circulation did not match Hyundai's own page: the 13 km/L average and the 72-litre tank. If you are working out affordability, use 12.33 km/L and 68.9 litres and you will not be disappointed later.

And remember the price changes daily, so redo the sum with the current rate rather than trusting any total you read, including ours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Hyundai Palisade Hybrid fuel average in Pakistan: what is the real figure?

Hyundai publishes none for this market. The figures in circulation are 12 km/L city, 14 highway and 13 combined, which are third-party estimates. Hyundai's official EPA rating for the all-wheel-drive version works out at 12.33 km/L, so budget on that instead.

What is the running cost per kilometre?

At Rs377.91 a litre, about Rs29.07 per kilometre on the 13 km/L estimate, or Rs30.65 using the official EPA figure. On octane at Rs415 it rises to Rs31.92. Petrol prices change daily, so recalculate with the current rate.

How much does 1,000 km cost?

Roughly Rs29,070 on the optimistic estimate and Rs30,652 on the official EPA rating. Both assume ordinary petrol at today's price and no octane.

What is the monthly fuel cost?

For 1,250 km a month, about Rs36,338 at 13 km/L or Rs38,315 at the EPA figure. Note that 1,250 km a month is 15,000 km a year. If you drive 1,500 km a month that is 18,000 km annually, and the yearly total rises to between Rs523,260 and Rs551,731.

What is the fuel tank capacity?

Hyundai publishes 18.2 US gallons, which is 68.9 litres. A 72-litre figure circulates locally but is not a Hyundai-published number. Filling 68.9 litres at today's price costs about Rs26,036.

Does the Palisade Hybrid need external charging?

No. It is a conventional hybrid rather than a plug-in, so there is no cable and no electric-only range. The petrol engine and regenerative braking keep the battery charged while you drive.

Why is the American figure lower than the Pakistani one?

Because EPA is the strictest of the major test cycles, tougher than WLTP, NEDC and CLTC. A local estimate that beats it should be treated as a best case. Notice too that 13 km/L closely matches the front-wheel-drive rating, while Pakistan gets all-wheel drive.

Is the quoted fuel average guaranteed?

No. Every figure here is an estimate or a laboratory rating. Your own consumption will depend on traffic, speed, passengers, air conditioning, load and tyre pressure. Motorway cruising in particular erodes a hybrid's advantage.
