This Kia Sportage L 2026 review Pakistan guide works from Kia's own specification page rather than from circulating figures. The car is a self-charging hybrid SUV in two versions, front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.
Everything technical here is verified. One thing is not, and it is the price, so we will deal with that first.
Kia Sportage L 2026 Price in Pakistan
You will see Rs12,199,000 for the FWD HEV and Rs13,299,000 for the AWD HEV. Those figures are everywhere.
We went to check them, and found something worth telling you. Kia Pakistan's own price list carries no Sportage L price at all.
The official Kia Pakistan price list has three tables for the Sportage L. Every price cell is blank, showing only the label and no value.
It is not only the Sportage L either. The Sorento, EV5 and EV9 cells are blank too, and the Stonic is marked as to be decided.
We checked a third official Kia page as well, the trim comparison tool. It carries no price either.
So treat those two numbers as widely reported rather than official. They may well be right. They are simply not on Kia's authorised list today.
Three things the price list does state clearly, and all three matter more than the headline figure.
First, ex-factory prices exclude withholding tax, freight and insurance. So the figure you read is never the figure you pay.
Second, a booking is confirmed only by a system-generated signed provisional booking order. A verbal promise or a receipt is not a booking.
Third, and please read this one twice. Payments go only to Lucky Motor's dedicated bank accounts. Kia's own page says it is not responsible for money paid anywhere else.
That is the single most valuable line on the whole price page. Never transfer to a personal account, however convincing the explanation.
Engine, Hybrid Performance and Transmission
The official Kia Sportage L specification page publishes the full breakdown, which is more than most brands here do.
| Powertrain | As Kia publishes it |
|---|---|
| Engine | SmartStream G1.6T GDI, 1,598 cc |
| Engine output | 178 hp, 265 Nm at 1,500–4,500 rpm |
| Motor output | 64 hp, 264 Nm at 1,700 rpm |
| Combined | 235 hp, 368 Nm |
| Battery | Lithium-ion, 270 V, 1.49 kWh, 5.5 Ah |
| Transmission | 6-speed automatic, shift-by-wire, paddles |
| Fuel tank | 52 litres |
Now add the engine and motor figures together, as most people will.
178 plus 64 is 242 hp. But Kia publishes 235 hp combined, which is seven less. The torque gap is wider still.
265 plus 264 is 529 Nm. Kia publishes 368 Nm combined, a difference of 161 Nm.
Kia has not made a mistake here. This is how hybrids genuinely work, and it is worth understanding.
Peak engine output and peak motor output do not arrive at the same instant. The engine's torque plateau begins at 1,500 rpm while the motor peaks at 1,700 rpm.
So the system total is what the two can deliver together, not what each can deliver alone. Anyone quoting 242 hp for this car has added the wrong way.
One point in Kia's favour on how it publishes all this. Every figure on the page is in hp, consistently.
That is not normal in this market. Several brands selling here print metric horsepower while labelling it hp, which overstates the number slightly. Kia does not.
Kia Sportage L FWD HEV vs AWD HEV
This is the decision most buyers actually face, so here is what Kia assigns to each.
The powertrain is identical. Both get the same 235 hp and 368 Nm. The AWD is not a faster car on paper.
| Listed by Kia | FWD HEV | AWD HEV |
|---|---|---|
| Drive | Front wheels | All four wheels |
| Drive modes | Eco, Sport, My Drive | Eco, Sport, My Drive |
| Terrain modes | Not listed | Snow, Mud, Sand |
| Front seats | 8-way powered | Heated and ventilated, 3-step |
| Memory seats | Not listed | Driver, 2 settings |
| Audio | Not listed | 6 Harman Kardon plus bass booster |
| Tailgate | Not listed | Smart power memory tailgate |
Read the AWD column again. You are not only buying all-wheel drive.
The heated and ventilated seats, the memory function, the Harman Kardon system and the powered tailgate all come with it. That changes how the price gap looks.
Now a serious caution, and it is Kia's doing rather than ours. We also read Kia's official trim comparison tool, expecting it to settle all this.
It did the opposite. Kia's trim cards and Kia's comparison table disagree with each other.
The cards give heated and ventilated seats, Harman Kardon audio and the power tailgate to the AWD. In the comparison table, those same rows are blank for both variants.
It runs the other way too. The cards list paddle shifters and 64-colour ambient lighting for both trims, while the table leaves those rows empty.
Kia's page does not say which source is correct. Two official pages on the same website, and no way to tell them apart.
Count what the comparison table actually fills in, and the result is startling. Only three rows separate the two variants.
Those three are the drivetrain, the terrain modes, and driver memory seats. Everything else that supposedly justifies the AWD premium appears only on the trim cards.
So if you are paying extra for the AWD, get its equipment listed on your booking order. Do not rely on either page.
Two features deserve a specific question. The comparison table carries a row for a panoramic sunroof with one-touch operation, and a row for a hands-free smart power tailgate.
Both rows are blank for both variants. So a sunroof is on Kia's own feature list for this car with no variant assigned to it.
A heated steering wheel is in the same position. Described on the model page, listed in neither trim. Ask about all three.
Exterior Design, Dimensions and Wheels
The numbers put it squarely in the mid-size SUV class, and they are all officially published.
| Dimension | Figure |
|---|---|
| Length | 4,685 mm |
| Width | 1,865 mm |
| Height | 1,660 mm |
| Wheelbase | 2,755 mm |
| Ground clearance | 181 mm |
That 181 mm matters here more than it would elsewhere. It is a reasonable figure for broken roads and speed breakers, without being an off-road number.
Suspension is McPherson strut at the front and multi-link at the rear, with column-mounted electric power steering.
Tyres are 235/60R18 on 18-inch alloys. Brakes measure 17 inches at the front and 16 at the rear.
One detail buyers always discover too late. The spare is a steel donut, not a full-size wheel.
A donut spare is speed-limited and distance-limited by design. On a long run outside the city, that is worth knowing before you need it.
Lighting is LED throughout, with star-map daytime running lamps and LED front fog lamps. There is a smart key with remote engine start.
Interior, Infotainment and Comfort Features
The cabin is where the Sportage L makes its strongest case, and the screens lead it.
There are two 12.3-inch curved displays, one a digital instrument cluster and one the infotainment touchscreen. Both variants get them.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are wireless, with voice recognition, and there is a wireless charging pad. No cable needed for either job.
Seats are artificial leather in one-tone black. Both variants get 8-way power adjustment for driver and front passenger, plus 2-way driver lumbar support.
A powered passenger seat is less common than it sounds at this level. It is usually the first thing cut.
Both variants also get dual-zone automatic climate control and 64-colour ambient lighting. The heated and ventilated seats are AWD only.
Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
Kia claims more than 15 driver-assistance features. Here is what it actually names.
Smart Cruise Control with stop and go. Forward Collision Avoidance Assist. Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist. Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist.
Lane Keeping Assist and Lane Following Assist. Safe Exit Warning. A Blind Spot View Monitor and a 360-degree Surround View Monitor.
On parking sensors, the two Kia pages differ slightly. The model page says front and rear, while the comparison table says front, rear and side.
That is a serious list for this market. Stop-and-go cruise control and a 360-degree camera are the two that earn their keep daily in Pakistani traffic.
On passive safety, there are six airbags, covering front, side and curtain. Front seatbelts are height-adjustable.
Two honest cautions. Kia does not clearly assign most of these features to one variant or the other, because that comparison table is largely blank.
And a feature list is not a crash rating. No crash-test score is published for the Pakistan-built car, so do not read equipment as a safety score.
Fuel Economy and the Hybrid Battery
We are not going to give you a kilometres-per-litre figure, and here is why.
Kia Pakistan publishes no fuel economy number for this car. Any figure quoted elsewhere is either from another market or from somebody's own driving.
What we can do is settle the question people keep asking about the battery.
The pack is 1.49 kWh at 270 volts. Kia also publishes 5.5 amp-hours, and those three figures agree with each other exactly, which is a good sign.
Now compare that to a plug-in hybrid. A PHEV pack runs to tens of kilowatt-hours, ten times this size or more.
So the arithmetic answers it. At 1.49 kWh there is nothing worth plugging in, and no meaningful electric-only range.
The Sportage L is a self-charging hybrid, not a plug-in hybrid. The engine and braking recharge the pack, and you only ever visit a petrol pump.
That is genuinely convenient in Pakistan, where charging infrastructure is thin. It also means your savings come from city driving rather than motorway running.
One more gap worth closing yourself. Warranty terms are not on the model page, and a high-voltage battery normally carries its own separate warranty. Ask for both in writing.
Boot Space and Family Practicality
The cargo figures are published, and they are strong for the class.
There is 586 litres with the rear seats up, rising to 1,872 litres with them folded. The rear bench splits 60:40.
A 60:40 split is the practical one for families. You can carry one long item and still seat two passengers behind.
With a 2,755 mm wheelbase, rear legroom should be comfortable for adults. Sit in the back yourself before deciding, because published figures never settle comfort.
Main Competitors in Pakistan
We are going to answer this differently from most comparisons, because the usual way misleads people.
The Sportage L competes with the electrified mid-size SUVs now arriving here from Hyundai, Chery, Haval, MG and JAECOO. That much is obvious.
But the badge is not the real dividing line. The powertrain type is.
Take the Chery Tiggo 7 plug-in hybrid sold here. Chery publishes an 18.3 kilowatt-hour battery for it, against the Sportage L's 1.49.
That is roughly twelve times the capacity, and it buys a genuinely different car. The Chery can run on electricity alone if you charge it.
The Sportage L cannot, and it never needs a charger. Those are two different ownership experiences, not two trims of the same idea.
So decide the powertrain before the badge. If you have no reliable charging at home, a self-charging hybrid is the lower-risk choice.
If you can charge overnight and your daily run is short, a plug-in hybrid will cost less to run. The hardware only helps if your routine suits it.
One thing we will not do here is quote rival power, range or price figures. We only publish numbers we have taken from a manufacturer's own page.
When we have verified official specifications for each rival, we will do a proper head-to-head. Until then, a table of half-sourced numbers would not help you choose.
One warning for whatever you compare it against. Always check which test cycle a range or economy figure came from, because CLTC, NEDC, WLTP and EPA figures are not interchangeable.
Kia Sportage L Pros and Cons
Taking the verified specification on its own terms, here is the balance.
In its favour: a genuinely detailed official specification, and 235 hp from a hybrid in this class. Twin 12.3-inch screens come on both variants, alongside a long named list of driver-assistance features.
Also in its favour: 586 litres of boot space, powered front seats on both variants, and no charging cable to worry about.
Against it: no published fuel economy figure, no warranty terms on the model page, and no price on Kia's own list.
Also against it: a steel donut spare rather than a full-size wheel, and several desirable features locked to the pricier AWD.
And the worst of them: Kia's own trim cards and comparison table contradict each other, with only three rows actually separating the variants.
Note what most of those negatives have in common. They are gaps in published information rather than faults in the car. That is fixable by Kia tomorrow.
Kia Sportage L Accessories in Pakistan
This is the part we can speak about from our own shop floor rather than from a specification sheet.
We carry 143 products cut for this model. Our Kia Sportage L HEV accessories range covers sun shades, TPE floor mats, trunk mats, dashboard mats, interior PPF, top covers and key covers.
For a new hybrid SUV, the sensible first three are floor mats, a trunk mat and interior PPF. They protect the surfaces that lose the most value.
Sun shades are the fourth, and in Multan they are not optional. A cooler cabin also means the air conditioning works less, which matters on a hybrid.
One honest warning about fitment, and it applies to any model this new. Check compatibility with your exact variant before ordering.
Some items fit every Sportage, some are cut only for the 2025 to 2026 L HEV, and a few need alteration. Lighting upgrades in particular can require modification.
Message us with your variant and we will tell you straight whether something fits. We would rather lose a sale than send you a part that does not.
Final Thoughts
On the specification, the Sportage L is a strong package. A 235 hp self-charging hybrid with twin 12.3-inch screens, 586 litres of boot and a real driver-assistance list is a lot of SUV.
The gaps are all in what Kia has chosen not to publish. No economy claim, no warranty detail, a half-empty variant table, and an empty price list.
So go to an authorised dealer and ask for a signed provisional booking order with the on-road total. Pay only into Lucky Motor's own bank account. Then come to us for the mats.
We are based in Multan, we fit in house, and we will confirm fitment before you pay.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Kia Sportage L 2026 price in Pakistan?
The figures in circulation are Rs12,199,000 for the front-wheel-drive version and Rs13,299,000 for the all-wheel-drive one. Kia Pakistan's own list shows no Sportage L price at all today, so treat both as reported rather than official. Withholding tax, freight and insurance sit on top in any case.
What is the difference between FWD HEV and AWD HEV?
The engine, motor and outputs are identical. The AWD adds all-wheel drive plus Snow, Mud and Sand terrain modes. It also brings heated and ventilated front seats, driver memory seats, a Harman Kardon audio system and a smart power memory tailgate.
What is the combined power of the Kia Sportage L?
Kia publishes 235 hp and 368 Nm combined. The engine alone makes 178 hp and the motor 64 hp, which add up to more. That is normal for a hybrid, because the two peaks never arrive together. The system figure is the correct one to quote.
Does the Sportage L need external charging?
No. This is a self-charging HEV rather than a plug-in. At 1.49 kWh the pack is a small fraction of a plug-in's, so there is nothing worth connecting to a wall. The engine and regenerative braking keep it topped up, and you only visit petrol stations.
What is the boot space of the Sportage L?
Kia publishes 586 litres with the rear seats up and 1,872 litres with them folded down. The rear bench splits 60:40, so you can carry something long and still seat two in the back.
What is the official fuel average?
Kia Pakistan does not publish one for this model, so we are not quoting a number. Any figure you find online is from a different market or from a private owner's driving. Ask the dealer whether a local figure exists in the brochure.
How many airbags does the Sportage L have?
Six, covering front, side and curtain positions. Kia also claims more than 15 driver-assistance features, including stop-and-go cruise control and a 360-degree camera. No crash-test rating is published for the locally built car.
Where can I buy Kia Sportage L HEV accessories in Pakistan?
We stock 143 products cut for this model, including sun shades, TPE floor mats, trunk and dashboard mats, interior PPF and top covers. Confirm fitment for your exact variant first, since a few items need alteration. Send us your variant and we will confirm compatibility before you order anything.
Does the Kia Sportage L have a sunroof?
A one-touch panoramic sunroof is named as a feature row in Kia's comparison tool, yet the cell is empty for both variants. So it sits on Kia's own list with no trim attached. Ask the dealer to confirm it in writing before booking.
Which features are confirmed as AWD-only?
On Kia's comparison table, only three rows actually separate the variants: the drivetrain, the terrain modes and driver memory seats. The cards go further for the AWD, adding ventilated and heated front seats, the Harman Kardon system and a powered tailgate. Those rows sit empty in the table. Get the list onto your booking order.
How does it compare to a plug-in hybrid rival?
They are different kinds of car. The Chery Tiggo 7 plug-in sold here has a published 18.3 kWh battery against this one's 1.49 kWh, about twelve times as much. A plug-in rewards you only if you can charge regularly. A self-charging hybrid asks nothing of you beyond petrol.
Is the Sportage L spare wheel full size?
No. Kia lists a steel donut spare, which is speed and distance limited by design. The road tyres are 235/60R18 on 18-inch alloys. Worth knowing before a long trip out of the city.
