If you are searching for the GWM Cannon P300 price in Pakistan, there are two things you need before any number: GWM does not actually sell a truck by that name, and the GWM pickup heading here is not a diesel.
Neither of those is a reason to stop reading. Both are the reason this page is useful.
GWM Cannon P300 Price in Pakistan
There is no price. No official Pakistan price has been announced for any GWM pickup, and listings showing “call for price” are not an announcement.
What has been said is more useful than a guess. Sazgar Engineering Works, GWM's local partner, reports that its local assembly preparations are complete and that the final price depends on the government's new auto policy, which is still awaited.
That is worth understanding, because it means nobody can price this truck yet — not the distributor, not a dealer, and certainly not a website. Our coverage of the 2026–31 auto policy and the IMF talks explains what is holding it up.
First, the Name: There Is No “Cannon P300”
GWM sells the same pickups under different names in different markets, and the phrase “Cannon P300” has merged two of those naming systems into a model that does not exist.
On GWM's own South African model page the truck is simply the P300. The word “Cannon” does not appear on it anywhere.
| Market | Smaller pickup | Larger pickup |
|---|---|---|
| South Africa | P300 | P500 |
| Australia, New Zealand | Cannon | Cannon Alpha |
| China | Great Wall Pao | Shanhai Cannon |
| Brazil | Poer P30 | — |
Market names compiled from GWM's own regional model pages and independent reference. Names vary further in other markets.
So P300 and Cannon are the same truck, and P500 and Cannon Alpha are the same truck. Combining “Cannon” and “P300” names the smaller pickup twice. When Sazgar launches here it will choose one name, and the evidence points to Cannon Alpha.
The GWM Pickup Coming to Pakistan Is a Plug-In Hybrid
This is the part that changes a buying decision. The GWM pickup reported for Pakistan is the Cannon Alpha — the larger truck — and the version named is a plug-in hybrid, not the P300's diesel.
Its verified hardware is a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a 120 kW electric motor and a 37.1 kWh battery, plus 50 kW DC charging, 6.6 kW AC charging and 6 kW of vehicle-to-load output.
Reported international figures put combined output at 300 kW and 750 Nm, which is 402 hp and 553 lb-ft. Treat those as the overseas specification, because GWM has published no Pakistan-spec figures at all.
GWM's partnership with Sazgar is long established — the company's own 2021 launch announcement for Pakistan names Sazgar as its local partner, though that release covers only the Haval H6 and Jolion and mentions no pickup.
Good News for Diesel Buyers
If you came here wanting the 2.4-litre diesel, you have not lost it. The Cannon Alpha is also offered with a 2.4-litre turbo-diesel, rated at 137 kW and 480 Nm with a nine-speed automatic and four-wheel drive.
Compare that with the P300's diesel at 135 kW and 480 Nm. The same torque and a two-kilowatt difference in power — one and a half per cent. It is the same engine family, and independent reference states the smaller truck's 2.4 diesel was taken from the Cannon Alpha.
So the engine most buyers here would want already exists on the truck actually arriving, in a bigger body. Whether Sazgar offers the diesel in Pakistan is unconfirmed, and it is the first question worth asking a dealer.
P300 Specifications, as Published for South Africa
These are South African figures for the P300, offered there in LS and LT trims in two- and four-wheel drive. They are not Pakistan specifications and should not be read as such.
| Specification | GWM P300 |
|---|---|
| Engine | 2.4-litre turbo-diesel |
| Power | 135 kW (181 hp / 184 PS) |
| Torque | 480 Nm (354 lb-ft) |
| Drivetrain | 2WD or 4WD, by trim |
| Touchscreen | 12.3-inch, upper trims only |
| Wheels | 18-inch alloy |
| Camera | 360-degree, upper trims only |
From GWM South Africa's official P300 page. Also listed there: sunroof on upper trims, heated and ventilated front seats, push-button start, keyless entry, wireless charging, a tailgate step, sidesteps and LED headlights.
Note what is missing from that table, because it is not an oversight on our part. GWM South Africa publishes no transmission, no fuel consumption, no dimensions, no ground clearance, no towing capacity, no payload and no airbag count for this truck.
Its specification table is simply unpopulated. For a working vehicle the absence of towing and payload figures is a genuine gap, and we are not going to fill it with numbers from elsewhere.
Why the Hybrid Suits Pakistan Better Than You Might Think
Here is the detail nobody is discussing. That Cannon Alpha plug-in hybrid can export 6 kW of power, and its 37.1 kWh battery is larger than the pack in some fully electric cars.
Run the numbers. A household drawing one to one and a half kilowatts could in principle draw on that pack for somewhere between 25 and 37 hours.
That is a paper figure, and the real one will be lower once you allow for conversion losses and for leaving enough charge to drive home on. But even halved, a pickup that doubles as a day of backup power means something in a country that still manages load-shedding.
A plug-in hybrid that accepts 50 kW DC charging is also unusual, since most take AC only. For a buyer weighing powertrains, our look at the Changan Nevo Hunter in Pakistan covers a third approach again — a range-extender, where the engine only generates and never drives the wheels.
Launch Timing and What to Watch
Be sceptical of launch dates for this truck. One widely repeated expectation put it in June 2026, which passed without a launch, and listings have since carried an October 2026 expectation that is now all but spent.
What is actually established is narrower and more reliable: assembly preparation is reported complete and the price is waiting on the auto policy. Until that policy lands, a launch date is a forecast rather than a fact.
Three things to ask when it does arrive: which name the truck carries locally, whether the diesel is offered alongside the hybrid, and what the published towing and payload figures are — because, as above, they do not currently exist in public.
Final Thoughts
If you are shopping for a GWM Cannon P300 in Pakistan, the single most useful thing to know is that you are probably shopping for a Cannon Alpha, and probably a plug-in hybrid one.
Three things to carry away. The name merges two markets' naming, so expect GWM to use one of them and not both. The pickup reported for Pakistan is the larger hybrid.
The 2.4 diesel you may want exists on that truck too, barely changed. And no price can be quoted by anyone until the auto policy is settled.
We will update this page when Sazgar announces a name, a specification and a price. If you run a pickup today, our JAC T9 Hunter accessories range is exact-fit for that truck — we do not yet stock anything for the GWM, and we will not pretend otherwise.
