Chinese Car Brands in Pakistan Who Represents Them in 2026?

Chinese car brands in Pakistan have gone from a handful of names to a crowded field in a few years. Chery, Changan, Deepal, GAC, Haval, Tank, ORA, BAIC, OMODA and JAECOO are now all sold here and each one arrives through a Pakistani business group.

Which group is behind which brand matters more than it might seem. It decides who handles your warranty, where parts come from, and how committed the brand is to the market.

Pakistan Automotive Groups and Their Brands

The last three represent Japanese brands and are shown for context only. Chinese brands are covered group by group below.

Nishat Group: Hyundai, OMODA & JAECOO

Nishat operates in autos through NexGen Auto, which handles Hyundai alongside two Chery-group brands, OMODA and JAECOO.

That pairing is notable: one group running a Korean brand and Chinese brands side by side. It also has the strongest local-assembly story among the Chinese brands so far — 10,000 locally assembled OMODA and JAECOO units were announced in August 2026.

Master Group: Changan, Deepal & Chery

Master Group's automotive business lists three Chinese brands: Changan, its electrified sub-brand Deepal, and Chery.

Between them, that covers conventional petrol cars through to EVs and range-extended models. Deepal in particular gives the group a dedicated electrified line rather than folding EVs into an existing brand.

Lucky Group: Kia, Peugeot & GAC

Lucky Motor Corporation represents Kia and Peugeot, and has added GAC as its Chinese brand.

Sazgar Engineering: Haval, Tank, ORA & BAIC

Sazgar represents three brands from Great Wall Motor Haval (SUVs), Tank (off-roaders) and ORA (EVs) plus BAIC.

Other Chinese Brands in Pakistan

Several more Chinese brands are present or arriving through their own partners:

BYD — through Mega Motor Company, with local assembly of the Sealion 6 planned for Q4 2026.
JAC — through Ghandhara Automobiles, which sells the T9 Hunter and Frison pickups.
Geely — through Bestway, with a plant planned at Port Qasim.
iCAUR — through NexGen Auto, with the V23 and V27 shown at PAPS 2026.

The pattern is the same throughout: a global Chinese manufacturer, and a Pakistani company that brings the cars to market.

Who Actually Owns These Car Brands?

This is the most commonly misunderstood point. Pakistani groups do not own these brands. Chery, Changan, Great Wall, GAC, BAIC and BYD are Chinese manufacturers that own their brands outright.

The Pakistani company's role is one or more of the following:

Authorised distributor — imports and sells the vehicles.
Local assembler — builds cars in Pakistan from kits supplied by the manufacturer.
Joint-venture partner — shares a local operating company with the manufacturer.
Local operating company — runs sales, service and parts on the brand's behalf.

The difference is practical, not academic. The Pakistani partner decides the local price, the dealer network and the service experience — but the manufacturer decides the product, the technology and ultimately whether the brand stays. When a partnership changes, a brand can move to a different local group.

"Model-dependent" means some models may be assembled locally while others are imported. Check the specific model before assuming.

Why the Local Partner Matters to Buyers

When you buy a Chinese car in Pakistan, your day-to-day relationship is with the local partner, not the Chinese manufacturer. That means the questions worth asking are about the local company: how wide the dealer and service network is, how quickly parts arrive, and how long the group has been in autos.
