The Pakistan Auto Show returns to Lahore from 18 to 20 September 2026, and the expected lineup for PAPS 2026 is the most electrified the event has seen upcoming SUVs, EVs, hybrids, PHEVs and even REEVs across nine brands.

Hyundai, Kia, Chery, Jetour, Haval, Suzuki, BYD and several newer names are all expected to bring something, and a fair amount of it is genuinely new to Pakistan.

This is the 21st edition, and the "Industrial Pakistan" theme is worth understanding before you go. PAPS is run by a parts and accessories manufacturers' association, so alongside the vehicle stands there is a substantial focus on local manufacturing, component suppliers and the industrial side of the sector not only the finished cars.

If you are travelling specifically to see a particular vehicle, it is worth confirming that brand's presence before setting off. Display lineups are finalised late, and manufacturers occasionally withdraw models at short notice.

What to Expect at Pakistan Auto Show 2026

The clear theme is electrification. Where earlier editions were dominated by conventional petrol SUVs, the expected 2026 lineup spans battery electric vehicles, hybrids, plug-in hybrids and range-extender EVs a technology spread that would have been unthinkable at a Pakistani auto show a few years ago.

Bookings have been reported open at Rs. 1.5 million. Be precise about what that means: it is a booking amount, not the vehicle's price. The final price and commercial details have been expected around the show, so this is one of the genuine reasons to follow PAPS coverage closely.

Reported Specifications

Reported details point to a rear-wheel-drive electric car with a usable battery and driving range, a modern infotainment setup, multiple airbags, ADAS features and a multi-angle camera system.

Treat all of it as subject to confirmation. Pakistan specification regularly differs from the international version, and features displayed on a show car do not always survive into the model customers receive.

iCAUR V23 and V27 Expected at PAPS 2026

Nexgen Auto is expected to bring two iCAUR models that sit at opposite ends of the same brand.

iCAUR V23

The V23 is the compact one, with a boxy, upright design that stands out sharply against the rounded crossovers filling the segment. In a market where most SUVs look broadly similar from thirty metres, distinctive styling is a real differentiator.

The V27 is the larger model, expected as a REEV a range-extender electric vehicle.

A range-extender EV always drives on its electric motor. The small petrol engine on board acts purely as a generator to recharge the battery — it never drives the wheels. That is what separates a REEV from a conventional hybrid.

Hyundai's Expected Hybrid and N-Line Models

Hyundai's expected lineup splits cleanly in two: N-Line sportier trims and hybrid models.

The Tucson N-Line and Sonata N-Line bring a more aggressive appearance package to familiar nameplates styling and trim rather than a different car underneath.

The Palisade Hybrid, Santa Fe Hybrid and Elantra Hybrid represent the efficiency side, spanning large SUV, mid-size SUV and sedan.

Chery, OMODA and Jaecoo Models to Watch

Beyond the Chery Q, the Tiggo 7, Tiggo 8 and Tiggo 9 cover the conventional SUV range from compact through to large.

The Omoda 7 and Jaecoo J5 BEV are expected from Nexgen Auto. The J5 BEV is the notable one a battery electric version of a model already familiar here, which is a considerably easier proposition for buyers than an entirely unknown nameplate.

For all of these, Pakistan-specific trims, specifications and prices require confirmation. Show cars are frequently international specification.

Kia's Expected Lineup at PAPS 2026

The Kia Sorento PHEV is the headline expectation a plug-in hybrid in the large SUV class, offering electric running for daily distances with petrol on hand for longer trips.

The Kia Stonic is described as likely rather than confirmed. The Sportage is the established seller in the range and needs no introduction.

There has also been talk of a 1000cc turbo SUV following a teaser. That remains speculation a teaser is not an announcement, and no specification or timing has been officially confirmed.

Jetour Could Bring a Wide SUV Lineup

Jetour is expected to bring the broadest lineup of any single brand five models spanning conventional and electrified powertrains.

The T1 i-DM and T2 i-DM use Jetour's plug-in hybrid system. The T2 2.0T XWD and T2 Dominator take a rugged, off-road-oriented direction, while the X70 and Dashing cover mainstream crossover territory.

Booking and pricing information for the T2 i-DM has been circulating, but as with everything else here, final Pakistan pricing requires official confirmation rather than reliance on reported figures.

Haval, GWM and Tank Models Expected

Sazgar's GWM lineup covers an unusually wide spread. The Jolion Max and H6 GT sit on the road-focused side, with the H6 PHEV FWD adding plug-in capability to the brand's volume SUV.

The Tank 300 and Tank 500 are proper body-on-frame off-roaders a segment with very few serious options locally. The Cannon is the pickup, entering a space long dominated by a small number of established names.

For most buyers the H6 PHEV is the one to watch. Plug-in capability on an SUV people already recognise is a much easier step than moving to an unfamiliar brand.

Kaiyi E04 — A Small EV to Watch

The Kaiyi E04 is expected from Q-Autos, and compact EVs matter more than their size suggests. Most Pakistani driving is short, urban and predictable  precisely the use case electric vehicles handle best.

Running cost is the real argument. Electricity per kilometre works out substantially cheaper than petrol at current rates, and an EV has far fewer serviceable parts than a combustion car.

The questions worth asking are final price, battery warranty, charging support and realistic delivery timelines. On an affordable EV, battery warranty matters more than almost anything else it is the single most expensive component.

Nora NEO and Metro: Current Status

Nora EV is expected with the Nora Metro and Nora NEO, but with an important caveat attached.

Physical units have been reported as delayed in shipment, so the brand's presence may be limited to brochures and marketing material, with actual vehicles showcased at a later point.

That distinction matters if you are attending specifically to see these cars. Pricing and specifications remain unknown for both models, so there is little to evaluate yet beyond the concept itself.

BYD's Upcoming PAPS 2026 Lineup

BYD has indicated visitors will see its upcoming lineup and new technology, but exact models have not been disclosed.

Given the breadth of BYD's global range from compact hatchbacks to large SUVs, across both battery electric and plug-in hybrid platforms this is one of the genuine unknowns of the show, and one of the better reasons to attend rather than read about it afterwards.

Suzuki Fronx Could Get ADAS Features

A Suzuki Fronx has been spotted carrying ADAS equipment, and the reported feature list is substantial: blind spot monitoring, lane assistance, collision warning, a head-up display and a 360° camera.

Pak Suzuki has not officially confirmed a new variant or a display unit for the show, so this sits firmly in the reported-but-unconfirmed category.

If it does reach production locally, it would matter more than the specification list suggests. Advanced driver assistance systems have largely been confined to expensive vehicles in Pakistan bringing them into a mainstream model would shift what buyers expect across the whole market.

What Buyers Should Check at PAPS 2026

Auto shows are built to generate excitement, which is exactly why a checklist helps. These are the questions worth asking at any stand before you get carried away.

Is This on Display or Actually Launching?

The single most important question. Plenty of cars shown at auto shows never reach the local market, or arrive years later in a different specification. Ask directly and accept a vague answer as an answer.

Has an Official Price Been Announced?

Are Bookings Open, and on What Terms?

If bookings are open, ask what the booking amount covers, whether it locks your price, and what happens if the price rises before delivery. Get the answer in writing rather than as a reassurance.

What Is the Delivery Timeline?

Booking opening and delivery starting can be separated by many months. Ask for a delivery timeline, not just a launch date.

Is This the Final Pakistan-Spec Model?

Display cars are often international specification. Features on the show car may not appear on the version sold here confirm which variant you are looking at and which features are local.

What Warranty Is Included?

Read the terms rather than the headline number. On EVs, PHEVs and REEVs, battery warranty length and conditions matter most.

Where Is Aftersales Support Available?

Ask how many service centres exist and where they are. A new brand with thin coverage is a real ownership cost, especially outside the largest cities.

Are Spare Parts Available Locally?
