Two Suzuki variants sit within about two lakh of each other. One has an automated gearbox. The other has a taller body and a lower price. Both get described as cars around Rs30 lakh.
That framing hides the real decision. So this Suzuki Alto VXR AGS vs Every VXR comparison starts with the numbers Suzuki itself publishes. Then it shows what the Rs30 lakh line really means after tax.
Suzuki Alto AGS vs Every VXR: Latest Prices in Pakistan
These are the figures on the official Suzuki Pakistan car prices list, checked on 29 October 2026.
| Variant | Listed price | Filer tax | Non-filer tax |
|---|---|---|---|
| Every VXR | Rs2,965,200 | Rs14,826 | Rs44,478 |
| Alto VXR | Rs2,994,861 | Rs14,974 | Rs44,923 |
| Alto VXR-AGS | Rs3,166,480 | Rs15,832 | Rs47,496 |
| Alto VXL-AGS | Rs3,326,446 | Rs16,632 | Rs49,897 |
The Alto VXR AGS costs Rs201,280 more than the Every VXR. That is the gap most comparisons quote.
But look at the row between them. The Alto VXR with the five-speed manual costs Rs2,994,861. It is an Alto, and it is cheaper than the Every. Most Alto-versus-Every comparisons leave it out entirely.
Reading the list sideways changes the question. The AGS gearbox costs Rs171,619 over the manual Alto. So the real choice is not Alto against Every. It is whether an automated clutch is worth Rs171,619 to you.
The Rs30 Lakh Line: Only One Combination Stays Under It
On the listed price alone, two of these variants sit below Rs30 lakh. The Every VXR is under by Rs34,800. The manual Alto VXR is under by just Rs5,139.
Now add the withholding tax from the same official list. That one step settles the argument.
| Price plus withholding tax | Total | Versus Rs30 lakh |
|---|---|---|
| Every VXR, filer | Rs2,980,026 | Under by Rs19,974 |
| Every VXR, non-filer | Rs3,009,678 | Over by Rs9,678 |
| Alto VXR manual, filer | Rs3,009,835 | Over by Rs9,835 |
| Alto VXR-AGS, filer | Rs3,182,312 | Over by Rs182,312 |
| Alto VXR-AGS, non-filer | Rs3,213,976 | Over by Rs213,976 |
Only one combination stays under Rs30 lakh: the Every VXR bought by a filer. Every other combination crosses the line.
The manual Alto clears the line by Rs5,139 on price. Its filer tax alone is Rs14,974. So it crosses Rs30 lakh on the tax line and nothing else.
The same goes for a non-filer buying the Every. Being outside the tax net costs Rs29,652 extra here, and that alone pushes the total above Rs30 lakh.
The pattern runs across the whole price list. The non-filer rate is three times the filer rate. It works out at 1.5 per cent of the listed price against 0.5 per cent.
And all of this is still before registration, number plate, insurance and dealer charges. None of those are on Suzuki's price list. An ex-factory price is a starting figure, not a budget.
So if your limit is a hard Rs30 lakh paid out of pocket, ask the dealer for a written on-road quotation first. Treat any number you read online as incomplete until you have that paper.
Alto AGS vs Every VXR: Which Transmission Is Better?
Suzuki's own pages are clear on this. The Suzuki Alto VXR AGS official specifications list AGS, and the Suzuki Every VXR official specifications list 5MT. Both are two-wheel drive.
AGS stands for auto gear shift. It is a manual gearbox with the clutch and shifts automated. There is no clutch pedal to work.
That matters most in city traffic. Multan's bazaar roads and Lahore's signal queues are where a clutch-free car earns its money.
But an AGS is not a CVT and not a torque-converter automatic. It shifts a single clutch, so you can feel a pause between gears. Some drivers never notice it. Others dislike it immediately.
This is the one part of the decision no article can settle for you. Drive both before you pay. Rs171,619 is a lot to spend on a gearbox feel you have not tried.
What Suzuki Does Not Publish for Either Car
This part is unusual, and buyers should know about it.
Suzuki Pakistan's Alto and Every pages carry prices, transmission, drive type, colours and long feature lists. They do not carry a specification table.
There is no engine size on either page. No cylinder count, no power, no torque. No length, width, height or wheelbase. No kerb weight, no fuel tank capacity, no tyre size, no seating capacity.
The Every page lists ground clearance as a feature heading, but prints no figure next to it.
So the engine and dimension numbers you see quoted elsewhere do not come from these pages. They may still be correct. They are simply not manufacturer-published, which is a different thing.
We have left them out rather than repeat them. If a number matters to your decision, ask the dealer to confirm it from the brochure for the batch you are actually buying.
Safety Equipment Compared, Feature by Feature
Both cars list dual front airbags, seat belt force limiters, a pretensioner, an immobiliser and childproof rear door locks.
After that they split, and the entries are worth reading closely.
| Listed by Suzuki | Alto | Every VXR |
|---|---|---|
| Braking entry | ABS | ABS with EBD |
| Hill hold control | Listed | Not listed |
| ISOFIX lower anchor | Listed | Not listed |
| Front disc brake | Listed | Not listed |
| Security alarm | Security system | Security alarm |
| Electric windows | Front and rear | Front only |
Two entries deserve attention. The Every lists ABS with EBD while the Alto lists only ABS, so the Every's braking entry reads better on paper.
The Alto answers with hill hold control and an ISOFIX lower anchor. If you fit a child seat, that anchor is the single most useful line in the table.
The window difference is the one nobody mentions. The Alto lists electric windows front and rear across all three variants. The Every lists power windows for the front only.
One caution on all of this. A feature list is not a crash-test score. Neither page publishes a rating, so do not read this table as a safety ranking.
And where a feature is not listed, that is not proof the car lacks it. It means Suzuki has not published it, so confirm it on the vehicle in front of you.
Cabin, Doors and Luggage: What the Official Page Actually Says
The Every's equipment list reads like a working vehicle, and that is the honest way to describe it.
Suzuki lists a boarding assist handle with an alighting step. It also lists a two-step folding rear seat that stows, a folding front passenger seat and a commercial rear floor side cover.
There is a vinyl floor carpet and a vinyl luggage carpet rather than cloth. There is an overhead shelf, a card case and a shopping bag hook rated to two kilograms.
Those are load-carrying choices. Vinyl wipes clean, a stowing rear seat opens floor space, and an alighting step helps on repeated stops.
One point needs care. Suzuki's Every page does not state what type the rear doors are. It mentions rear door child locks, outside handles and a backdoor handle, and nothing more.
So we are not going to describe the door mechanism as an official specification. Open and shut the rear doors yourself at the showroom. It takes ten seconds and settles it.
Seating is the same story. Neither page prints a seat count, so bring the people and the luggage you actually carry and try them in the car.
A note on fit if you own the older van. Our Suzuki Every 2015-2022 accessories are cut for that generation, not the current one. For the current Every, message us before ordering anything shaped to the body.
Fuel Average, Maintenance and Resale
Suzuki Pakistan publishes no fuel economy figure for either car. So we are not giving you one.
There is a second reason to be careful here. Even a shared engine does not mean a shared average.
A tall van pushes more air than a low hatchback. Gearing, weight and load all move the number. A city average on a loaded van is a different thing from a highway run in an empty Alto.
The AGS adds another variable. Shift timing is decided by the car, not your foot, so your own driving style matters less than it would in a manual.
For maintenance, compare written service estimates from a Suzuki dealer rather than guesses. Ask what a service costs, which parts are consumables, and what the warranty covers.
For resale, ask a dealer what they would actually pay today for the same variant, year and mileage. An asking price in a classified advert is not a resale value.
Which Car Is Better for Family and Business Use?
For a small family doing school runs and city errands, the Alto VXR AGS makes the better case. Clutch-free driving, rear electric windows and an ISOFIX anchor all point the same way.
For carrying goods, tools or stock, the Every makes the better case. A stowing rear seat, vinyl floors and a wipe-clean load area are built for that work.
For a strict Rs30 lakh budget, the Every VXR is the only option that survives the tax line, and only if you are a filer.
And if you want an Alto for less, the manual VXR is sitting right there at Rs2,994,861. It is Rs171,619 cheaper than the AGS and only Rs29,661 more than the Every.
These two models have been doing well enough for Pak Suzuki to ship them abroad. Our coverage of Suzuki Alto and Every exports to Brunei has the background on that.
Whichever you pick, the fitting job is the same on both. Floor mats, trunk mats, sun shades and lighting are where most owners start. We stock those for the Suzuki Alto 2014-2026, alongside the rest of our Suzuki accessories range.
Final Thoughts
The Rs201,280 headline gap is the least interesting number here. The useful ones are Rs171,619 for the AGS gearbox, and the fact that only a filer buying the Every ends up under Rs30 lakh.
Decide the gearbox on a test drive, decide the body on your own luggage, and decide the budget on a written quotation. Then come to us for the mats and the lights.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Suzuki Alto VXR AGS better than Suzuki Every VXR?
It depends on the job. The Alto VXR AGS suits city driving without a clutch pedal, and it adds rear electric windows and an ISOFIX anchor. The Every VXR suits carrying goods, with its stowing rear seat and wipe-clean vinyl floors. Neither is better in every way.
What is the price of Suzuki Alto VXR AGS in Pakistan?
Suzuki Pakistan lists it at Rs3,166,480 as of 29 October 2026. Withholding tax is Rs15,832 for a filer and Rs47,496 for a non-filer. Registration, insurance and other charges come on top. Confirm the current price before you book.
What is the price of Suzuki Every VXR in Pakistan?
The listed price is Rs2,965,200. Withholding tax adds Rs14,826 for a filer and Rs44,478 for a non-filer. That takes the filer total to Rs2,980,026 and the non-filer total to Rs3,009,678, before registration.
What is the price difference between Alto AGS and Every VXR?
Rs201,280 on the listed prices. The more useful figure is Rs171,619, which is what the AGS gearbox costs over the manual Alto VXR.
Is Alto AGS automatic or manual?
Suzuki lists AGS for the VXR-AGS and VXL-AGS, and 5MT for the base Alto VXR. AGS automates the clutch and gear changes, so there is no clutch pedal. The shift feel differs from a CVT or a conventional automatic, so take a test drive first.
Does Suzuki Every VXR have a manual gearbox?
Yes. Suzuki Pakistan lists 5MT and two-wheel drive for the Every VXR. There is no automated option in the listing.
Which car has more luggage space, Alto or Every?
Neither page publishes a boot volume, so we cannot give you litres. The Every's equipment list points that way, with a two-step folding rear seat that stows and vinyl luggage carpet. Test your own load with the seats folded as you intend to use them.
Can I buy a new car under Rs30 lakh in Pakistan?
On these two models, one combination works. The Every VXR as a filer totals Rs2,980,026 with tax. The manual Alto VXR is under on price, but crosses the line once filer tax is added. The Alto VXR AGS is above it from the start. Registration and insurance are extra in every case, so get a written on-road quotation.
What engine do the Alto and Every use?
Suzuki Pakistan does not print engine details on either model page. There is no displacement, cylinder count, power or torque figure published. We have left those numbers out instead of repeating unsourced ones, so ask your dealer to confirm from the brochure for your batch.
