What Happened to the Remote Controlled Car?


The vehicle, operating without a driver inside, was being run in a high-security area of Islamabad when it lost control and struck a nearby police mobile. The incident was captured on video, which quickly circulated on social media.

The exact cause of the loss of control hasn't been confirmed. Based on available information, the car was under remote/internet-based control rather than confirmed satellite communication so "remote-controlled" is the more accurate description of how the vehicle was actually operating.

How Does Ehsan Zafar's Remote Controlled Car Work?


According to Zafar, the car can be controlled through a mobile application or computer, receiving commands from thousands of kilometers away over an internet connection.

A 360-degree camera system is used to monitor the vehicle's surroundings during operation, and Zafar says the car is designed to automatically stop if its internet connection is lost a basic safety mechanism for this kind of internet-dependent control setup.

Pakistani Innovator Ehsan Zafar's Previous Car Technology


This isn't Zafar's first driverless demonstration. He has previously shared videos showing a conventional car being operated with no driver present.

Around two years ago, Zafar had previously claimed that he developed the world's first keyboard-operated car a demonstration in which a standard vehicle was controlled directly through a computer keyboard rather than a steering wheel.
