This Rate Lasts Three Days

Check the date before you trust any petrol figure, including this one. The rate it replaced held for a single day, and this one covers only the weekend.

Pakistan has moved away from fortnightly revisions. A weekly review replaced them earlier this year, and the cabinet has since approved daily pricing set by OGRA from a seven-day average of international prices. Our fuel price page carries the current rate.

Diesel Now Costs More Than Petrol

With petrol down and diesel held where it was, diesel is now Rs 10.66 dearer than petrol. Diesel moves freight, so this revision does nothing for transport costs.

The Petroleum Division cited global developments, including changes in Platts rates, premiums and incidentals. On petrol you save Rs 39.30 on 10 litres and Rs 157.20 on 40, and a 20-litre fill now costs Rs 7,726.

Final Thoughts

Petrol at Rs 386.30 until 19 October, diesel held at Rs 396.96. Over two days petrol has fallen Rs 7.56, a shade under 2%. Always check the effective dates, because these windows are now days long, not weeks.
