| Student pays | Rs. 109,000 |
| Monthly instalment | Rs. 3,028 × 36 months |
| Down payment | None |
| Government covers | Insurance, mark-up, registration |
Government support works out at Rs. 90,000 per bike — about 45% of the listed price.
Be Realistic About Your Chances
This matters more than any other number here. There are 100,000 bikes and 1,149,058 registrations.
That works out at roughly 8.7% about one applicant in eleven. Apply by all means, but do not build your university transport plan around receiving a bike, and do not spend money in advance on the assumption that one is coming.
Of those registrations, 222,101 are female students about 19% of applicants. Our earlier report on the Punjab E-Bike Scheme 2026 registrations covered how quickly demand built once applications opened on 5 September.
What It Actually Costs
The bike is listed at Rs. 199,000, of which the student pays Rs. 109,000 over 36 months at Rs. 3,028 a month, with no down payment.
Under this Bank of Punjab electric bike scheme arrangement, the government covers insurance, mark-up and registration — which is what makes the instalment plan interest-free rather than simply spread out.
Before applying, be honest with yourself about the bike instalment plan: Rs. 3,028 every month for three years is a real commitment on a student budget. It is still a three-year obligation, however generous the terms.
Nobody Can Guarantee You a Bike
With more than a million hopefuls, agents appear. So, plainly: no one can get you selected, move you up a list, or guarantee a bike for a fee.
The motorcycle application process runs through the Punjab E-Bike Scheme official portal only. Do not pay anyone to apply on your behalf, and do not share your CNIC with third-party sites offering to "register" you.
Who Can Apply
The scheme is for students, and eligibility criteria have varied between phases so check the current requirements on the official portal rather than an older list. Our guide to Punjab E-Bike Scheme Phase 2 2026 covers how the application process has worked, and the Punjab Transport Department publishes the scheme's official information.
Helmets, Safety Equipment and Training
Successful applicants receive helmets and safety rods, along with free driving training.
Take the training seriously, and wear the helmet every time for many recipients this will be their first vehicle, and the first months of riding are when most new riders come to grief. Licensing is a separate requirement; our report on the Punjab E-Bike License facility covers that, though applicants should confirm the current procedure with their licensing centre.
If You Are Not Selected
Given the odds, most applicants will not be. The electric two-wheeler market has grown considerably outside the scheme see our coverage of the Jolta JE 125 electric bike and other electric bikes and scooters in Pakistan. It is worth knowing the alternatives before the result rather than after.
Final Thoughts
Under the Electric Bike Scheme, 100,000 bikes go out from early November, at Rs. 109,000 to the student over 36 months with no down payment. Apply before 4 October through the official portal, pay nobody to do it for you and go in knowing that with 1.1 million registrations, roughly one applicant in eleven will receive a bike.
