Both variants use the same 42.7 kWh pack and are rated at 400 km NEDC. There is no larger-battery option, which keeps the lineup simple.
One thing to be clear about: NEDC is an older and more generous test cycle than WLTP. Real-world range will land below 400 km, particularly in city traffic with the air conditioning running — which in Pakistan is most of the year.
Chery Q Motor and Rear-Wheel-Drive System
A single rear-mounted motor produces 90 kW (121 hp) and 111 Nm of torque, driving the rear wheels.
Rear-wheel drive is rare in this class — most compact EVs are front-driven. The practical benefit is a tighter turning circle, since the front wheels only have to steer. Suspension is independent at the rear, with electric power steering.

The 2,700 mm wheelbase is the number that matters most here. On a 4,195 mm car that's a lot of the length given over to the cabin, which is why Chery describes the interior as SUV-like — rear knee room in particular benefits.

Chery Q ADAS and Safety Features
The Premium variant carries 21 Level 2 ADAS functions. Among the named systems:
- Automatic Parking Assist (APA) — the car steers itself into a space
- Adaptive cruise control — maintains a set gap in traffic
- Lane assist — keeps the car centred and warns on unsignalled drift
- Blind spot detection — flags vehicles you can't see in the mirrors
- 540° HD camera — surround view including a simulated under-car image
The 540° system is worth singling out. A standard 360° camera stitches the four exterior views together; the 540° version adds a rendered view of the ground beneath the car, which is genuinely useful on broken road edges and unmarked speed breakers.
Passive safety includes 6 airbags. Both variants share the same structural safety equipment — the Comfort simply goes without the driver assistance layer.
Chery Q Interior and Technology Features
The Premium gets a 15.6-inch central touchscreen against the Comfort's 12.8-inch unit, both paired with a digital instrument cluster. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are supported, with voice control on the Premium.
The Premium also adds 50W wireless charging, a powered driver's seat, leather upholstery, an electric tailgate and an electric frunk — a rare feature at this size, since most compact EVs use the space under the bonnet for hardware.
Chery Q V2L, Charging and Convenience Features
The Premium variant includes 6.6 kW V2L — vehicle-to-load, which turns the car into a power source for household appliances or tools. In a country with load-shedding, that's more than a novelty.

Is the Chery Q a Good Electric Car for Pakistan?
On paper it suits local conditions reasonably well. A 42.7 kWh battery is large enough for a week of city commuting between charges, the compact footprint works in dense traffic, and the wheelbase delivers rear space out of proportion to the car's length.
The honest caution is range. Treat 400 km NEDC as a laboratory figure, not a planning number — for real-world use, work with a meaningfully lower figure and you won't be caught out.
